Entebbe Airport taxi drivers under their umbrella body of Airport Taxi Services Cooperative Society Limited have visited the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Secretariat in Naguru and endorsed Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba for the presidency in the next presidential election.
The drivers were received by the Minister of State for Internal Affairs and PLU Coordinator Greater Mpigi, Juma Witonze Kisekka, and the PLU Secretary General, Fadil Twalla.
In his remarks, Kisekka described the drivers as ambassadors of the country, saying they are the first people visitors interact with on arrival.
“You are our ambassadors. Entebbe is like an island which has a connection to Uganda. When we receive visitors, you are the first people to interact with them. When I look at you, you seem very organised and patriotic. Because if you are not patriotic, you wouldn’t be here,” Kisekka said.
He said peace and stability ushered in by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni since 1981 has enabled Ugandans to work and earn a living.
“After President Museveni, what next? The answer is Gen Muhoozi. Don’t joke with the peace we have in this country. The only person who can help us and protect us is Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba. He has shown it when he is not president. He has been in the trenches fighting for you when you are sleeping,” Kisekka said.
“He has been in Congo fighting ADF, in northern Uganda fighting the LRA, in Somalia. He is the son of a rich man, son of the President. He could be in America, Europe enjoying life on yachts and in shopping malls, but he sacrificed his life to fight for you, the wanainchi,” he added.

Hon. Fadil Twalla, Member of Parliament for Tingey County and Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), thanked the drivers for their support.
“Thank you for loving General Muhoozi Kainerugaba. We are going to work with you. Tell others the answer is a peaceful transition. NRM and PLU will work together. In 2026, we worked together, we voted for our candidate, who was His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who won with 71.65%. First phase done. Now we have started the second phase with endorsements,” Twalla said.
“The only thing that can lead anyone to prosperity is working together, unity. If you’re not united, there’s no way you’re going. Thank you for uniting yourselves as the airport taxi drivers. Once you’re united, you’ll get anything,” he added.
Twalla urged them to endorse Gen Muhoozi, mobilize others and register online for PLU membership to be among the 20 million historicals, noting each member gets a unique lifetime PLU number.
“Thank you very much for finding time to come and join us at the PLU Secretariat. This is your home. You had a lot of work at the airport, but because of the love you have for your country and for General Muhoozi and PLU, you have stayed here until now,” he said.
“But now you have come at a time when we are running a country-wide endorsement exercise for our chairman Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba intended to collect 20 million signatures and online registration for a lifetime number, so please forward this message to your clients and all Ugandans,” he said.

One of the committee members, Chrizestom Kaggwa, appreciated the PLU Secretariat for the warm reception and pledged continued support to the movement, saying the drivers will remain united behind Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and the PLU ideals.
The Entebbe taxi drivers were appreciative and excited about the visit, describing the engagement as timely and assuring the PLU leadership of their commitment to mobilize fellow drivers and the wider Entebbe community behind the movement’s agenda.
