
Dr.Patricia Litho (Right), hands over file to incoming Board Chair Charity Kalebbo Ahimbisibwe
Veteran Journalist and Executive Director of the Electoral Laws Institute Charity Kalebbo Ahimbisibwe has been elected as a new Board Chairperson for Uganda Media Women’s Association – (UMWA).
Charity Kalebbo who took over from Dr. Patricia Litho, is to serve UMWA, together with other Six elected members for a period of 5 years. The election of the New Board happened during the Association’s Annual General meeting on Saturday 28th. September at the Association’s head office in Kisasi.

Other Members on the Board include; Margret Ssentamu who comes direct to the board as an ex-official, Joan Comfort Balese (Vice chairperson), Catherine Ageno (Treasure), Sarah Oringa (Secretary), and Flora Aduk, Diana Kibuuka plus Scovia Babirye as committee members.
Key on the agenda for the new board is to; increase the membership of the association and lobby for more funds to run the association’s activities.
Uganda Media Women’s Association was founded in 1983 by female journalists to enhance the visibility and status of women and other marginalized groups through awareness creation, capacity strengthening, advocacy and networking to realize gender equality.
