The International Organisation of Migration (IOM) has handed over 6 pieces of 55-inch TV screens and 3 pieces of advertising kiosks to Mr. Emmanuel Barungi, the General Manager for Entebbe International Airport.
The new equipment is to specifically to be installed at various places within the Airport premises with health promotion messages.

The IOM Chief of Mission Sanusi Tejan, extended his appreciation to the leadership of Entebbe International Airport, Ministry of Health and other development partners for the continual collaboration with the International Organisation of Migration.
Barungi, the Entebbe Airport General Manager appreciated IOM for the continued support towards Uganda’s main point of entry saying, this is not the first time the international body is running to the noble cause of the airport.
In 2022, the IOM donated equipment worth 30,000 Euros (about sh113m) to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) Ms. Olive Birungi Lumonya, the UCAA deputy director general said the equipment was to go a long way in sensitising the people who, up to the time of leaving the airport, are not aware they are being trafficked.
According to Lumonya, the fight against human trafficking requires concerted efforts at different levels. “A number of interventions are still being undertaken by the civil society organisations to continue building awareness right from the rural areas where most of the trafficking begins, to the law enforcement teams and to those who assist survivors in coping with distress,” said Lumonya.

With an addition of new equipment this year, Mr. Sanusi Tejan Savage, the IOM chief of mission in Uganda said the organisation will continue to support all efforts geared towards the prevention and control of human trafficking as well as uplifting the health standards of persons who utilise the Airport.
