The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has cautioned all travelers who are hoping to use Entebbe airport between Tuesday and Thursday to plan more time on the road and ensure that they arrive at the airport in time for their scheduled flights.
According to a communication issued by the UCAA management, there’s a likelihood of having traffic delays between Tuesday and Thursday due to due to a number of delegates who are expected to fly into the country, to attend president’s swearing in ceremony which will be held at Kololo grounds in Kampala.
“The public is also reminded that departing and arriving passengers should only be dropped or picked from the airport by utmost two people including the driver of the car in order to avoid crowding at the airport,” stated a communication from UCAA.
Upon the resumption of passenger flights in October last year, crowds of relatives and friends who usually drop or pick-up passengers, among other meeters and greeters, were barred from accessing the airport so as to avoid crowding.
The UCAA warning comes in the wake of the new Covid19 variant which was confirmed in Uganda by the ministry of health. The health ministry in retaliation, issued travel restrictions to all passengers from India and advised passengers from countries like USA, UK, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania among others to take Covid19 test upon their arrival at Entebbe Airport.
