Police in Entebbe has launched an investigation into circumstances under which Eldard Tugume Kabehe a shop operator at Katabi-Busambaga cell,in Entebbe municipality was found dead on Monday morning. According to Luke Owoyesigire the Kampala metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Kabehe was found dead in a sitting position, on his bed.
Whereas some neigbours suspect that Kabehe was strangled by robbers, Owoyesigire noted that Kabehe’s body was found clean without any injuries observed. Nurait Nalukwago, a neighbour said, the deceased who has been living alone, travelled from Kasese some years ago, to Entebbe municipality from where he’s been operating a retail shop. “He usually comes to pick us at 4:50am for prayers. When it clocked 5:20am on Monday morning without seeing him, I went to his place, found the lights on and the door open but was scared to enter,” narrated Nalukwago.
The crime scene was visited and examined by a team of detectives from Entebbe Police station led by the deputy CID D/ASP Herbert Rugubwa Rugyendo before a file SD REF 19/28/09/2020 was opened as investigations continue. Owoyesigire further intimated that the deceased’s son, known as Umar Kule, had reported his father as hypertentive who was on herbal treatment. His body was sent to city mortuary Mulago for postmortem examination.
