The heavy downpour which started in the wee hours of Wednesday night left several buildings and structures in Entebbe municipality and Katabi town council destroyed. Among the destroyed structures include police quarters, schools, roadside billboards, trees and headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF).

The rain which was accompanied by the whirling winds found it easy to sweep off the roof of the already dilapidated police quarters plus the teachers houses of Chadwick Namate primary school.
Nkumba primary school in Katabi town council was not spared, as the rooftop of pupils’ dormitory was blown off and carried away by the wind several metres to the compound of adjacent St. Apollo church. Pupils’ books, mattresses among other bedding were destroyed. Over 60 pupils are said to have been affected by the incident.

Traffic flow was halted for several minutes along Entebbe road as gigantic trees were uprooted by the heavy winds and thrown in the middle of the road.
