Onduparaka FC acquires AbaBet as main Shirt-sponsors

Fast rising sports betting house AbaBet Uganda has acquired the precious front space of the treasured Onduparaka Football Club shirt as the main sponsors.

The feat comes after the two parties arrived at a conscious to partner together for a duration of three years, worthy Shs 625,000,000=

Besides branding the fore part of the Onduparaka jersey, AbaBet also takes the naming rights of the Caterpillars’ home ground, as the AbaBet Green Light Stadium in Anyivu county, Arua.

This partnership was officially made public on 4th February 2021 during a lavish event held at the picturesque and lavish Mestil Hotel in Kampala.

Onduparaka top brass officials led by the club chairperson Benjamin Nyakuni, Mercy Munduru (marketing officer), Edison Sabasaba (Chief Executive Officer) and Villai Bainomugisha (head coach).

“Onduparaka Football Club is appreciative of the partnership with AbaBet. As a growing brand, we want to grow with partners and AbaBet is one of them. We vow to repay the faith vested unto us,” Munduru stated.

AbaBet was equally well represented by a number of staff and the marketing director Prince Kangume Pickton.

Kangume lauded the decision by the Onduparaka management to work with them for the betterment of sport as he envisions a long lasting relationship that will surpass the agreed three years initial partnership.

“AbaBet is humbled to associate and work with Onduparaka Football Club, the biggest sports franchise in the West Nile region and commands a big following among Uganda’s sports teams. We hope to grow with the brand and look forward to a long-lasting affair beyond the three years signed,” Kangume disclosed.

For starters, Onduparaka is a community based football club founded in 2011 currently playing in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League. The club’s name means ‘sorghum stem’ in the Lugbara language while the motto is: “The struggle continues.”

In February 2021, they will play four games as the 2020-21 UPL first round resumes.

They face Busoga United (12th February), UPDF (16th February), Kyetume (19th February), Police (24th February) and Vipers (27th February).
