Following the constant flooding of some roads within Entebbe municipality, Vincent Kayanja the municipality mayor launched construction of Yusuf road in Busambaga cell. Flooding water that has been affecting area residents, more especially during rainy season, influenced Kayanja and the municipal leadership to fast-track construction of the said road.
While launching the construction of Yusuf road, mayor Kayanja implored residents to be patient and allow engineers ample time, to do their work. He also requested residents to maintain good sanitation in respective areas.
According to Engineer Angulo, construction of Yusuf road is expected to take 45days. “For a start, we shall not relocate residents from their respective places, save for unavoidable circumstances,” noted Eng. Angulo.
Innocent Ssewankambo the area councilor, requested residents to work together with the municipal council and engineers while constructing this road. “If you give time to municipal council and engineers to clear this road, it will help you overcome the flooding water during rainy season and too much dust during sunny seasons,” implored Ssewankambo.
The construction of Yusuf road, also gave job opportunities to youths in Busambaga village and the neighbouring villages. Yusuf road which measures 2Km, is expected to cost Sh250m.
